P90X Day 1 is over and I lived to tell about it

P90X Day 1

Today was my first day doing the P90X program. It was pretty intense for me. I started out my workout today running around getting handles on the bands, switching handles because I needed tougher bands etc.

It mentions on the DVD to take it easy the first time through because you have to do things twice. I knew I wasn't in shape so I set my goals low. I figured if I set them too low it would be easier for me to adjust the next time.

I ended up not using the pull-up / chin-up bar because I am too out of shape, but it won't be long before I am using it again. I was able to do a few in college so I know it is possible.

Update (The Day After): I realized today that I did not complete the second part of Day 1. I for some reason thought the Ab Ripper X was for day 2. Oh well I am still proud of myself. I will get it done the next time.

If I look at my results on a per excersise basis it looks like my results weren't that great, but the amount of work I did over the course of the workout is pretty amazing and I am feeling it today.

I will put in my results in the next few days. I wrote my results on a piece of paper and need to get them typed up. I ache a lot today, but I don't mind. In a few weeks I will look back on Day 1 and will be in disbelief about how out of shape I was :-)

I will be starting Plyometrics shortly as my Day 2 workout.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

It's Friday

It's Friday again. I am happy about that. I went to Raleigh yesterday and picked up my younger brother Andy. It's about 3 hours away. Some said it was silly for me to go that far to pick him up instead of paying the extra to get him to Myrtle Beach. Normally I would agree, but I was happy to take the trip because I was able to sit there for 3 hours and think. It has been quite awhile since I had time to myself without a computer or tv or phone. On the way back was cool because my brother and I were able to chat. This weekend we are going to take it easy and play some World of Warcraft. We were going to go the beach for a run too, but the weather may not cooperate.

It's Monday! Tired as can be!

Well it's Monday again and I am so tired. I even went to bed early last night. I wish there was Monday nap time :-) I read recently that you should not sleep in on the weekends because it throws your sleep schedule off. I slept in about an hour each day. Could be why I am tired today.

Today is the first day in my office at my day job. We moved about a mile down the road. I am back to having my own office again. It is definitely easier to concentrate in coding being by myself. I turn on my yahoo music and get to work.

I am about 1.5 miles away from a beach in either direction. As I sit here and look out my window I wish I had a bright screened tough book so I could go sit under an umbrella at the beach and code away. Maybe someday.
